All I need from you is to evaluate true or
false from the following. If any of them evaluates “false”, then work on it
because it is where the loophole is.
1. You are not having enough
sleep
It is advisable that a
normal adult should have at least 8 hours of sleep. Failure of this makes the
body crave for fat and this in turn makes one eat about 300 more calories the
following day; you know how hazardous this is. Therefore endeavour to have
enough sleep.
2. You are eating wrongly
If you are still drinking
sugar filled beverages, energy drinks or even vitamin-water, don’t expect to
lose any of that weight anytime soon. Those drinks make it very difficult to
lose those extra pounds. Other people eat lightly, which is good, but the
problem is the more you think about your meal as “light”, it makes the brain
produce ghrelin which informs the body to lower down metabolism because “you
have a low food supply” and this leads accumulation of fats. Focus more on lean
protein foods, and indulgent parts of your meal for example cheese in your
salad.
3. Long sitting hours.
Especially in our offices.
Sitting even for 30 minutes make the brain to stop producing the fat inhibiting
enzyme, lipase. We all know what that means. It is recommended that you stand
and stretch at least every hour because this increases metabolism by 13%.
4. Overthinking about
exercise
How? Some people tend to
think that the exercise they are about to have allows them to have any snack
because “it will definitely burn the calories in it”. This is so wrong however
because it can make you eat up to 40% more. Make sure that the snack you take
doesn’t have more than 150 calories.
